The most beautiful george of the Eastern Carpathians. Parts of the gorge are named like Altar-stone, Gate of Hell, Limbo, Gorge of Hell, Lost World.

In the seas of the miocene epoch thick layer of chalk deposited. After the upiift of the Carpathian mountains, water has found its way and with a million year work formed the 5 kms long gorge. Its name comes from river Bicaz/Békás meandering inside.
