First written mention of Sopronhorpács is from 1220 as Hurpach. In 1446 as Puztahorpacz, from 1906 Sopronhorpács. It is the property of the Nádasdy family from 1536, then its granted to the Széchényi family in 1677. The Roman Catholic Church of Sopronhorpács is consecrated as Saint Peter and Paul.
